Like PureWorks’ other skin care products, it contains benzethonium chloride, a powerful antimicrobial agent that is well known for both its safety and efficacy. Other ingredients in this formulation synergistically enhance the activity of benzethonium chloride, bolstering its activity and providing highly effective, broad spectrum antibacterial activity. Designed to be used as a traditional foaming soap, it is applied to wetted hands and forearms to scrub the hands, and rinsed away under running water. It is an excellent cleanser, removing grit and grim that naturally accumulates on the skin.
The unique formulation of this skin cleanser makes it very different from traditional soaps. Most soaps contain negatively-charged or “anionic” detergents. PureWorks’ Antibacterial Soap contains positively-charged quaternary ammonium compounds. Because of this fact, this soap can be called an “invert soap.” It is so different from most traditional soaps, that a person can often feel the difference as soon as they use it the first time. The soft, smooth feeling of the foam feels luxurious as it spreads across the skin. A rich, abundant, lathering foam facilitates the washing process and rinses away easily.
The extra antibacterial activity is an added benefit to this “invert” soap. It effectively kills and removes bacteria from the skin. As is the case for all antibacterial soaps, the US Food and Drug Administration classifies them as “over-the-counter” drug products. PureWorks’ Antibacterial Soap also complies with current FDA regulations.
Most importantly, the PureWorks’ Antibacterial Soap is designed to work with the PureWorks’ Antiseptic Foam, Spray, and Lotion. Traditional soaps often inactivate antiseptics and hand sanitizers. The active ingredient in both the foam and the lotion is benzethonium chloride, recognized world-wide as a safe and effective antimicrobial compound. This “fourth-generation” quaternary ammonium compound is gentle to the skin while being tough on bacteria. Unlike many of the alcohol-based hand sanitizers on the market today, PureWorks’ Antibacterial Foam and Antibacterial Spray are alcohol free. Rather than drying or irritating the skin, PureWorks’ products soften and condition the skin while providing hours of lasting protection against bacteria and harmful germs that cause illness.
Use of either the PureWorks’ Antibacterial Foam or Antibacterial Spray is not intended to replace hand washing. Frequent hand washing helps remove dirt and oils that accumulate on the skin. The Foam and Spray are intended to be used following hand washing, to help guard against the risk of infection and to ameliorate the negative skin effects of frequent washing. This product is used to disinfect a variety of hard non porous inanimate surfaces such as floors, walls, and counter tops in homes, hospitals, offices, restaurants, hotels, day-care centers, buses, cars, etc.
PureWorks’ One-step Disinfectant is registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency.
PureWorks’ One-step Disinfectant is a one-step disinfectant cleaner that is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, is virucidal* [including HIV-1, the AIDS Virus and Hepatitis B Virus and Hepatitis C virus], fungicidal, and inhibits the growth of mold and mildew, and their odors, when used as directed.
- Bactericidal against: E. coli, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, Campylobacter and Streptococcus and others as described on product labeling.
- Also virucidal against Herpes simplex types 1 & 2, HIV-1 (AIDS virus), Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Vaccinia (Pox virus).
- For use in veterinary Practice it is effective against animal viruses including Avian Infectious Bronchitis, Canine Distemper Virus, Newcastle’s Disease Virus, and Pseudorabies virus.
